Bio information

Coming from a family with 7 generations of musical background, it is only fitting that I play music as well. I started playing steel at the age of 9 and I have been steelin it up ever since. I pick Derby Steel. I have played at the Mountain Arts Center in Prestonsburg, KY for 6 years with the Ky Opry Jr. Pros. I have had numerous other shows as well. I have opened for artists such as, Ronnie Milsap, Randy Travis, B.J. Thomas (twice), and a few others as well. I am a versatile musician. I also play drums, bass, upright bass, guitar, mandolin, Dobro, lap steel, and a few others. I also sing tenor and lead. I recently made All-State Choir for KY singing tenor. I am a straight A student and plan to become a doctor one day along with my music career. I played at the KY steel pickers steel show in the summer of 2005. I also toured for 2 weeks at Dollywood in 2006 with a bluegrass band playing upright bass. I have played upright bass (for a few shows) with Rhonda Vincent and Bobbe Osbourne. I read all sorts of music from tab, to Nashville Number, to staffed music. I have a very unique style of playing. On steel, I can pick the fire out of it on songs like the Orange Blossom Special or Rocky Top, but I don’t like anything better than a good ol’ crying steel song like Last Date. I am also very involved in community service. I am proud to be a volunteer fire fighter on the West Van Lear Volunteer Fire Department. I am also a ham radio/amateur radio operator. I achieved the highest ham license class –extra class- when I was 11 years old, becoming one of the youngest extra class operators in the United States. I am a straight forward guy. I don’t meet a stranger. If you want to speak to me I’ll talk to you. If I want to talk to you, I certainly will. Either way I’ll greet you with a good firm hand shake and a smile.

KEEP ON PICKN!!!!
